The Minister of Finance and Economic Development in terms of section 78 of the Value Added Tax has made regulations in Statutory Instrument 285 of 2019 which came into effect on 1 January 2020 which has the effect that repealing Statutory Instrument 75 of 2010. The latter listed live animals of tariff headings 0101 (horses, asses, mules and hinnies), 0102 (cattle and buffalo), 0103 (swine) and 0104 (sheep and goats) exempt.
