Fiscalisation Data Management System (FDMS) Upgrade Compliance Extension


The Commissioner Domestic Taxes issued Public Notice 50 of 2023 on the 9th of August 2023, advising all registered operators and taxpayers are required under the Value Added Tax Act to comply with the requirements of the new Fiscalisation Data Management System (FDMS) by upgrading their Fiscal devices through their approved service providers to issue Fiscal Tax Invoices displaying QR Codes with effect from 1st of September 2023.


Further to the above The Commissioner of Domestic Taxes has issued another public Notice 64 of 2023 on the 4th of October 2023, therein they have advised that that the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority will accept input tax claims on Fiscal Tax Invoices pending finalisation of upgrades by the service providers to issues Fiscal Tax Invoices with a QR Code. However, there was no specific period mentioned for which these invoices will be acceptable.


Please note The Zimbabwe revenue Authority requires all registered VAT operators to ensure they have engaged their service providers and provided all the relevant documentation for registrations on the FDMS system.
